The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall welcomed more than 67,000 guests and hosted more than 120 performances in its first year since a $12.9 million renovation. Guests traveled from all 50 states and Canada to the 1,100-seat venue at 1050 A1A N. in Ponte Vedra Beach.
The figures come from an Aug. 6 press release by SJC Cultural Events, the nonprofit that manages and operates the hall.
A 14-Month Renovation Preceded the Reopening
The hall reopened Aug. 1, 2025, after a 14-month overhaul. The project added expanded seating, improved sightlines, an L-Acoustics sound system, new outdoor terraces, an expanded lobby and upgraded artist amenities.
Former Baptist Church Reopened as Concert Hall
The building was repurposed from a former Baptist church and opened as a concert hall in 2011, according to SJC Cultural Events. It closed in May 2024 for the renovation.
Venue Was Lone Americas Finalist for Global Award
The venue was shortlisted as a global finalist for the 2026 MONDO-DR Award in the Concert Hall category, recognized for excellence in audio, acoustics, lighting and venue technology. It was the only venue in the Americas to earn the distinction, according to SJC Cultural Events. The Sydney Opera House, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and Biwako Hall were also shortlisted, with the Sydney Opera House winning the category overall.
Gabe Pellicer, CEO and president of SJC Cultural Events, said in the press release that word about the hall is spreading among touring professionals. "The response from artists and touring crews has been nothing short of exceptional, and word is quickly spreading throughout the industry about how good it feels to perform here," Pellicer said.
Big-Name Performers Filled the First Season
Performers in the first year included Lyle Lovett, Melissa Etheridge, Graham Nash, Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The venue also debuted the Sounds of Sawgrass Series in partnership with THE PLAYERS Championship, hosting nightly concerts during the March 2026 tournament with shuttle service from TPC Sawgrass.
The hall has drawn younger fans, too. Anabelle Sonntag, a sophomore at Ponte Vedra High School, attended a Jimmie Vaughan show and paid $40 for her ticket. "I enjoyed the overall vibe of the concert hall and loved my experience there," Sonntag told the PVHS Tiburon in a Sept. 10 article.
Music Enrichment Program Expands Community Reach
Beyond performances, Friends of Ponte Vedra Concert Hall partnered with SJC Cultural Events to launch a Music Enrichment Program at sites across St. Johns County. The program provides free weekly sessions led by board-certified music therapists, according to the press release. Duane Lupinski, president of Friends of Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, said the program brings music into the lives of students and community members.
The renovation also added a food and beverage program overseen by director Edwin Baltzley.
Upcoming at the Concert Hall
The fall lineup includes Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Grammy Award-winning vocalist Samara Joy, the Indigo Girls and Buena Vista Orchestra. Tickets and dates are available at pvconcerthall.com.
