Coaching staff brings postseason experience

Spencer-Gardner's staff includes varsity assistants Spencer Schurb and Asia Maye, along with junior varsity head coach Gary Josey, who also serves as a varsity assistant.

Josey enters his fifth season leading the junior varsity program with a 40-13 record, according to the school's athletics page.

He was part of the coaching staff during Ponte Vedra's 2024 run to the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 6A state semifinals, which included district and regional championships.

Schurb, who also serves as Ponte Vedra's assistant athletic director, joined the program after five years of coaching in Missouri and Mississippi. He helped lead teams to three consecutive 20-win seasons and three district championships, according to the school.

Sharks eye another postseason run

Ponte Vedra is scheduled to begin postseason play with district tournament games Feb. 4, 8 and 10, followed by regional rounds Feb. 16, 22 and 25.
