Nease High School running back Enrique Ordóñez is one of the Jacksonville Jaguars' two nominees for the 2026 NFL Latino Youth Honors. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound Ponte Vedra Beach product will be recognized as a South End Zone honoree before kickoff of the Jaguars' Sunday, Sept. 27, game against the New England Patriots at EverBank Stadium, Action News Jax reported Monday, Sept. 14.

The Bolles School wide receiver and linebacker Lorena Clutter is the Jaguars' other nominee.

Honors Program Awards Grants to Top Scholars

The selection puts Ordóñez in the running for a college grant worth up to $25,000. The NFL Latino Youth Honors, presented by Procter & Gamble, recognizes high school seniors across all 32 NFL team markets who excel on the football field and in the classroom. Nominees must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and have verifiable football statistics, according to the Hispanic Heritage Foundation.

Selection Process Narrows Field to Eight Finalists

A panel selects eight finalists, one from each NFL division. The male and female national winners each receive a $25,000 grant, while the six other finalists receive $5,000 each. Finalists also participate in events during Super Bowl Week, including mentorship and career resources in the sports industry, according to the NFL.

Ordóñez Racks Up Yards Across Two Seasons

Ordóñez has been productive on the ground for the Panthers. He rushed for 1,000 yards and five touchdowns on 137 carries during the 2025 season, according to 247Sports. Early in the 2026 season, he has 37 carries for 224 rushing yards and a 6.1 yards-per-carry average, ranking 34th in Florida's Division 5A, according to MaxPreps.

Nomination Part of Monthlong Heritage Celebration

The nomination is part of the Jaguars' "Somos DUUUVAL" initiative, a monthlong Hispanic Heritage Month celebration running throughout September. Adriel Rocha, the Jaguars' vice president of community impact and youth development, said the initiative aims to "celebrate and strengthen" the spirit of the Hispanic community in Jacksonville through youth sports, literacy outreach and leadership programs.

2025 Winner Parlayed Honor Into College Career

The Jaguars' 2025 nominee, Edward Jordan IV of Beachside High School in Jacksonville, won the AFC South award and went on to play football at Lafayette College. Ordóñez now follows that path as the panel begins selecting this year's eight divisional finalists.
