Ponte Vedra Beach and Nocatee gardeners looking to stock up for fall planting season can head to the St. Johns County Master Gardener Fall Plant Sale on Saturday, Sept. 19, and Sunday, Sept. 20.

The UF/IFAS St. Johns County Extension Office will host the sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days at the St. Johns County Agricultural Center, 3125 Agricultural Center Drive in St. Augustine. The event runs rain or shine.

Shoppers can browse landscape plants, houseplants and vegetable seedlings. Visitors can also walk through the Demonstration Gardens on the property.

Proceeds go directly to educational outreach and community programming through the St. Johns County Master Gardeners Program, which is part of the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Extension system.

Free classes and a $5 terrarium workshop

The sale includes free sessions alongside one paid workshop.

Saturday, Sept. 19:

  • 10 a.m. — Build Your Own Terrarium Workshop ($5 per terrarium)
  • Noon — "Tips and Tricks on Planting Your New Plant" with Master Gardener Volunteer Barbara

Sunday, Sept. 20:

  • 10 a.m. — "Hydroponics 101" with Agriculture Agent Jeet Ramjattan
  • 11 a.m. — "Tips and Tricks on Planting Your New Plant" with Master Gardener Volunteer Barbara

Ramjattan serves as the commercial agriculture agent at the St. Johns County Extension Office.

Plant sale revenue nearly doubled last year

The Master Gardener program has been building momentum. Plant sale revenue jumped by about $16,000 in 2025, nearly doubling the prior year's total, according to the UF/IFAS Extension St. Johns County 2025 annual report. The program hosts two public sales each year. The spring sale took place in April.

At last year's fall fundraiser in October 2025, County Extension Director Tim Wilson said the program had "expanded our nursery to offer a wider selection of plants," noting that more than half were native to Florida and the rest were Florida-friendly varieties.
