Alice B. Landrum Middle School students will trade their usual outfits for camouflage, teacher costumes and red during Red Ribbon Week, Monday, Oct. 26, through Friday, Oct. 30.
The Ponte Vedra Beach school posted its schedule of themed dress-up days under the slogan "Make a Difference. Be a Hero. Stay Drug Free." Each day pairs a costume theme with an anti-drug or anti-bullying message aimed at the school's 918 students in grades six through eight.
Here is the lineup:
- Monday, Oct. 26 — Camo Day: "Drugs Can't Find Me"
- Tuesday, Oct. 27 — Dress Like Your Favorite Teacher Day: "Be a Role Model"
- Wednesday, Oct. 28 — Red Out Day: "Be Bold, Be Brave, Be You"
- Thursday, Oct. 29 — Landrum Spirit Day: "We Take Pride in Being Drug Free"
- Friday, Oct. 30 — Orange Day: "Stand Up Against Bullying"
Red Ribbon Week is a national alcohol, tobacco, drug and violence prevention campaign. Landrum observed the week in 2025 as well, according to School Advisory Council meeting minutes. At that Oct. 16, 2025, meeting, Principal Troy Kasting told parents and staff the spirit days help reinforce the message for students.
"It's important that we recognize that and that the kids get that message," Kasting said at that meeting.
8th Grade Volleyball Night
Thursday night also serves as 8th Grade Night for the Landrum volleyball program, according to the school's announcement. The event honors eighth-grade players on coach Robin Mignerey's boys and girls teams.
The volleyball squad has a busy stretch around Red Ribbon Week. Landrum has three away games scheduled for Oct. 20, Oct. 22 and Oct. 27, according to the school's volleyball page. Tickets for each game are available through SchoolPay.
Landrum has earned an "A" school grade five consecutive years through 2024-25, according to its School Improvement Plan. Families looking for game tickets or Red Ribbon Week details can check the school's website.
